Eilís Dillon's work was widely translated, especially into German (her translators included Annemarie and Heinrich Böll). The updating of the present site includes some new links to other languages. Italian pages have been live for some time, and the site now offers a few details of her books published in several other languages including German, Swedish, French and Dutch. Her fourteenth language "acquisition" came when Tomorrow Publishing House issued the first Chinese edition of her classic adventure story, The Lost Island. She was also an accomplished translator in her own right, producing an admired English version of the eighteenth-century Irish lament, Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire. She included translations from Irish, French and Italian in several of her books.

Aslög Davidson (1898-1966) was an eminent translator from English, French, Norwegian and German, with over 100 volumes to her name. In her last years, between 1961 and 1966, she translated seven Eilís Dillon titles, also including The San Sebastian (Mysteriet med briggen "San Sebastian"), Parnass Förlag, 1966. Ulrika Widmark (1903-1987) was an author of children's books, a translator, editor, illustrator and teacher
